About Me
Carissa is a dedicated violin instructor with over three years of teaching experience in both private and studio settings. She is passionate about creating a supportive, engaging, and disciplined environment tailored to each student’s learning style, goals, and pace. With extensive experience with RCM exams, Carissa emphasizes the development of both strong technical foundations alongside confident musicianship to foster a genuine long-term passion toward the violin.
Training, Awards and Experience
Carissa is classically trained with extensive performance experience. Her musical and teaching background includes three years of private and studio teaching experience, RCM National Gold at Levels 7 and 9, RCM Provincial Gold at Level 10, ARMTA Gold at Level 9, former First Violin with the Calgary Youth Orchestra for two seasons, and Concertmaster of Sinfonia for one season.
As an advanced junior teacher, Carissa teaches beginner, intermediate, and advanced students with a focus on disciplined technical growth, musical confidence, and long-term enjoyment of the violin.
