Grand Violin Ensemble offers an extraordinary opportunity exclusively for violin students in Calgary, aged 10-18, who are at RCM Levels 4-9.
At the Grand Violin Ensemble, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional experience where students not only showcase their talents but also rehearse and perform alongside renowned professionals. Once a year, students have the unique privilege to work with Richard Roberts, the esteemed concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and violin professor at McGill University, benefiting from his extensive expertise and mentorship.
In June, students will have the honor of performing with Richard Roberts in a captivating concert, creating unforgettable memories and advancing their musical journey.
Join us at the Grand Violin Ensemble for a transformative experience that will inspire young musicians and elevate their passion for classical music to new heights.
Audition: For students who are not currently enrolled at the Nirvana Academy of Violin, we ask that they submit a short video of themselves playing a piece of their choice, as well as one scale and arpeggio with the bow technique/pattern of their choice.

Nirvana Academy of Violin organizes two exceptional ensembles: the Grand Ensemble for advanced students, focusing on challenging repertoire and high-level performance for violin students RCM Level 7+, and the Vivaldi Ensemble for intermediate students, emphasizing technical skill development on beautiful repertoire suitable for violin students RCM Level 3-5. Both ensembles nurture musical excellence and collaborative artistry.
