Violin Audition & Competition

Many violin students who get to a higher level of performance want to audition for different orchestras and advance their performance skills in a group setting. Nirvana Academy of Violin is the place that can prepare these students to achieve their goals. Nirvana has already prepared several students for the Calgary Youth Orchestra, Mount Royal Orchestra, and other orchestras outside Alberta. The rate of students who passed the audition has been 100%. Our academy is the home for violin students who want to audition for university and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance, General Music Program, or Fine Arts.

Violin Teacher Training

Violin students who have passed their level 9 exam (practical, theory, counterpoint, harmony, and history) and are interested in teaching violin are welcome to contact Nirvana for a teacher training program. Nirvana will teach them the teaching techniques and train them to become a competitive teacher. They also have the opportunity to get hired by our academy!

Violin Ensembles

Nirvana Academy of Violin organizes two exceptional ensembles: the Grand Ensemble for advanced students, focusing on challenging repertoire and high-level performance for violin students RCM Level 7+, and the Vivaldi Ensemble for intermediate students, emphasizing technical skill development on beautiful repertoire suitable for violin students RCM Level 3-5. Both ensembles nurture musical excellence and collaborative artistry.

Theory classes

Delve into the essential elements of music with our online music theory classes, designed to be accessible from the comfort of your home. Our curriculum focuses on Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) material, ensuring that students not only grasp the foundational concepts but are also thoroughly prepared for RCM theory exams.
