Anna is an early childhood educator and a violin teacher. Her musical journey began when she was introduced to music as a child, as her mother is a piano teacher and her sister is a cellist. She gravitated towards the violin at a very young age. Anna has played with the children and youth orchestras at Mount Royal University and she completed her Royal Conservatory of Music level 10 exam at the age of 18. Since then, Anna has been actively teaching students, and her curiosity in different teaching styles and methods led her to acquire a certificate in “Yamaha Violin Group Teaching”.
Anna’s passion for working with children also inspired her to pursue a degree in Child Studies at Mount Royal University. She utilizes her pedagogical experience as a preschool teacher in her violin lessons. Her teaching style is inspired by the Suzuki method of teaching where a nurturing adult guides children. Anna’s expertise is creating strong foundation, endurance and discipline in beginner and intermediate students.
She enjoys a variety of genres and styles of music and incorporates these in her teaching curriculum and in the music she currently plays. Anna plays with folk bands, records sessional music projects, assists with violin summer camps, plays in a community orchestra and actively performs in events.
